In the wake of the peasant agitation, Punjab is hot on politics and in such an atmosphere today in Jalalabad, Punjab, Congress and Akali Dal workers clashed with each other. Firing also took place and the vehicle of Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Badal was attacked.
According to the details received, municipal elections are being held in Jalalabad. A clash also took place between AAP and Congress workers here yesterday. Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singh Badal reached Jalalabad today as he had to fill up the election form of Akali Dal candidate.
As soon as his convoy arrived, the commotion started. People broke through the barricades and started gathering and pelting stones and firing started. Meanwhile, Akali Dal workers alleged that Congress workers attacked Sukhbir Singh Badal's convoy.
A large convoy of police then rushed to the spot and began efforts to bring the situation under control.
