After Prime Minister Modi's invitation, farmers' organizations said - we are ready for talks, the government should set a date

New delhi date. 8 February 2021, Monday

Thousands of farmers are protesting on the borders of Delhi in protest of the three new agricultural laws. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, urged the farmers to end the agitation. It has also invited farmers' organizations for talks with the government. The farmer has since asked the government to set a date for talks on the issue.

However, the farmers have also declared disaster on a remark made by Narendra Modi in the Rajya Sabha. The Prime Minister said that a new caste of agitators called Andolanjivi has arrived in the country. In response, farmers' organizations said that the role of the movement is important in a democracy. Shivkumar Kaka, leader of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, said he was ready for talks with the government, which would set a date and time.

"We have never asked the government to negotiate," he added. We went whenever the government called for a conversation. It may be mentioned that there have been 11 meetings between the government and the farmers so far, in which no compromise has been reached. While the farmers are adamant on the demand for repeal of the law, the government is also talking of amending it. It remains to be seen what will be the attitude of both the government and the farmers at the forthcoming meeting.
