16-hour Indo-China commander-level meeting discusses withdrawal of troops from disputed areas

The 10th phase commander level meeting between India and China over the border dispute lasted for 16 hours. The meeting, held in Moldo, ended at 2:00 pm on February 21. According to Army sources, disengagement was discussed in the disputed areas, including Gogra Heights, Hot Spring and Depsang.

The Indian delegation was led by Lieutenant General PGK Mann for the meeting. He is the commander of the 14th Corps at Leh. China, on the other hand, was led by Major General Liu Li. He is the commander of the southern Xinjiang military district of the Chinese army.

It may be mentioned that for the last 9 months, there has been a dispute between India and China over the border. Several rounds of meetings have also been held between the two countries in this regard. The withdrawal of troops from the Pangong Lake area began on 10 February and was completed last Thursday. Violent clashes in June killed 20 Indian soldiers and some Chinese.

Ahead of the meeting, China said four of its soldiers had been killed in a violent clash at Galwan.
