In the wake of Thursday's violence and sabotage of Capitol Hill by supporters of incumbent President Donald Trump in the United States, the move to remove Trump before his term expires under the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution has intensified. There was a move to impeach Trump if this constitutional amendment was not implemented.

The move was reportedly agreed by Trump's own Democratic senators as Thursday's violence brought America into disrepute around the world. Now it will be interesting to know what the 25th amendment to the constitution is. This amendment was added to the US Constitution in 1967. The bottom line is that the president fails to do the right thing. Or if he is not efficient in doing so, the president dies during the presidency or the president resigns, the vice president can be given the power and responsibility of the president. The power to elect a new Vice President was vested in Parliament and the President jointly. Article 3 of the 25th Amendment allowed the President to delegate all his responsibilities to the Vice President.
