Twitter's decision to close Trump's account is worrying, India has to learn: BJP MP

BJP MP and Youth Front president Tejaswi Surya has expressed concern over US President Donald Trump's decision to shut down his Twitter account permanently.

Tejaswi says Twitter's decision is a blow to democracy because of the growing threat from large companies operating social media platforms. One of the messages from what has happened in the United States is that the laws governing these companies should be reviewed. So that such a situation does not arise in India.

"I don't want Twitter to ban anyone," he said. After that, whether it is India or abroad, I will not support such action. Freedom of expression is very important. No company can stop someone from speaking like this.
