The President and the Prime Minister bowed to the army

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers paid their respects to the Indian Army personnel today.

Today is the fifteenth of January. Army Day is celebrated on 15th January every year in the country. The President, Prime Minister and others congratulated and greeted the male and female officers of the Indian Army.

In a message posted on social media on the occasion of the 73rd Army Day, the President said, "Today is Army Day. Congratulations to the brave soldiers of the Indian Army and to the women." We proudly remember those heroes who made invaluable sacrifices in the service of the country, we will always be indebted to the dedicated and courageous soldiers of the nation, their families and senior officers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on social media, wishing the brave soldiers of the country and their families a happy Army Day. Our army has always been strong, adventurous and determined. Our army has always held the head of the country high with pride. Greetings to the Indian Army from all the citizens of the country.

After the independence of the country, General Francis Butcher, the then British Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, passed away in 1949 and handed over the responsibility of the Indian Army to General KM Kariyappa. Our army has representatives from every caste and community in every state of the country and our army is truly secular.
