The ninth meeting between the government and the farmers also failed, with the government in charge of revising the law

New delhi date. 15 January 2021, Friday

Today is the 51st day of the ongoing peasant movement in the capital Delhi. The ninth meeting between the government and farmers' organizations was held today. However, today's meeting was as inconclusive as before. The next meeting will be held on January 19 at 12 noon.

The first meeting between the government and the farmers' organizations after the committee formed by the Supreme Court today and the ninth in a series of talks were fruitless. However, one thing is new in this meeting than in the previous ones, in which the government has this time referred to the revision in agricultural law. However, farmers' organizations are adamant on one thing and that is to withdraw agricultural legislation. The next meeting will be held on January 19.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said no compromise was reached before the lunch break in the ongoing meeting between the government and farmers on agricultural laws. Discussions on the MSP guarantee will take place after the break. He had said that earlier. He even welcomed the order of the Supreme Court. The government will present its case before the committee. We want to find a solution through dialogue.
