A terror attack is being feared in the capital Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. Terrorist organizations such as Khalistani and Al Qaeda are plotting terrorist attacks. Delhi Police has been alerted after the input received by the intelligence. A search operation has been launched by the Delhi Police. The militants are believed to be plotting to attack Republic Day by taking advantage of the ongoing peasant agitation in the capital Delhi.

"We have received input that the Khalistani organization and al-Qaeda terrorists could carry out an attack on Republic Day," said Siddharth Jain, SP, Connaught Palace, Delhi. With that in mind we have taken many precautionary measures. Posters of wanted and suspected terrorists have also been affixed.

Thus, security is beefed up on important occasions like 15th August and 26th January every year. Every time terrorists form a conspiracy on such an occasion, but due to the vigilance of the police and secret agencies they do not succeed. This time around, security challenges for the police have increased. A large number of farmers are sitting on the borders of Delhi. Then the terrorists are trying to take advantage of this peasant movement and mob.

Ahead of Republic Day, Delhi Police held meetings with police officials from other states and NCR on Friday. A special team of Delhi Police last month arrested five people linked to the terror outfit.
