"Raut's wife has to give an account," said BJP's Kirit Somaiya

Mumbai Dated 15th January 2021 Friday

Kirit Somaiya, a chartered accountant by profession and a BJP leader, said the wife of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut should be held accountable for the money laundering case.

The Enforcement Directorate had recently sent summons to Sanjay Raut's wife Varsha regarding the PMC Bank scam. However, Varsha did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate. Sanjay Raut alleged that this was a BJP ploy to harass me. According to Sanjay Raut, Varsha had sent all the documents sought by the Enforcement Directorate and refunded the entire amount involved in the scam.

In this regard, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya wrote on social media that finally Sanjay Raut had to return the money. But you also have to give an account. Sanjay Raut claimed that we had reimbursed my wife Rs 55 lakh. Somaiya tweeted this in this regard.

In the PMC scam, it was alleged that the wife of another man named Praveen Raut had given Rs 55 lakh to Varsha Raut. By that amount Varsha took a flat in Dadar area. Varsha claimed that this amount was given to me as a loan to take a flat. I repaid the amount in full.

Interestingly, Sanjay Raut has been writing articles criticizing the central government and the BJP in particular for a long time. Sanjay Raut is the editor of this daily. He often wrote on social media that come, should. What a breath of fresh air. Varsha and Sanjay Raut were shocked when the summons from the Enforcement Directorate came. At one point, Raut threatened, "I'm a very stubborn man." I'm not having fun.
