Rainfall in Delhi, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu amidst cold: Waterlogging in Chennai


Rains in Tamil Nadu cause severe damage to crops, while Delhi recorded a rise of 13.2 degrees

North India has a double climate of snow and rain, which has led to an increase in cold. The Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed for the third day in a row due to heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir.

About 4500 vehicles were trapped here which is being tried to be removed. It rained for the third day in a row amid a farmers' agitation in Delhi. Tamil Nadu also received heavy to very heavy rainfall, with Chennai having the highest impact.

Safdarjung in Delhi received 1.3 mm of rainfall on Tuesday, while the highest rainfall was 5.3 mm in the Palam, Lodhi Road area. Here the farmers are sitting on the agitation and are facing great hardship due to flooding under their tents.

However, the temperature in Delhi rose modestly to 13.2 degrees. Apart from Delhi and Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, on the other hand, received heavy rains.

Snowfall has resumed in Uttarakhand, which has led to an increase in cold in the state. Heavy snowfall is falling in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh districts. Here the temperature in Yamunotri reached minus six degrees while in Gangotri it remained one degree.

Kashmir was cut off from the country for the third day in a row due to heavy snowfall, with major roads closed due to snow. The temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 0.8 degrees. Following heavy snowfall in Kashmir, the administration had ordered fuel rationing. Avalanche warnings have also been issued in high altitude areas. Rains lashed several areas in Gujarat's neighboring state of Rajasthan.
