The Supreme Court has expressed concern over the issue of peasant agitation. The apex court had said in a petition that a serious corona crisis could ensue if farmers did not follow the corona guideline.
The apex court had asked the central government what steps it was taking to ensure that farmers had compliance with the Corona guideline. The apex court had asked the central government on the issue of farmers' agitation whether the central government had complied with the Corona guideline with the farmers.
If the central government does not follow the guidelines of the agitating farmers, the situation may recur as it was during the Tablighi Jamaat.
The Supreme Court slammed the government and asked, "Tell us, what's going on?" Are farmers safe from corona? What does the government do for the safety of farmers? Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, "We will get information on the matter and present it before the court."
Supriya Pandit had filed a petition regarding the government's failure during the Tablighi Jamaat. A court hearing was underway in that regard. In this context, the court had told the central government that if the government did not pay attention to the issue of farmers, the situation would be the same as it was during the Tablighi Jamaat.
