No pork in vaccine, don't listen to rumors, appeals former head of Indian Council of Medical Research

Dr R Gangakhedkar, former head of the Indian Council of Medical Research, insisted that one of the two anti-corrosive vaccines approved in India did not contain pork. Don't pay attention to rumors. Both vaccines are truly halal

In fact, it was propagated by the Raza Academy in Mumbai that Muslims should not take the vaccine because it contained pork or blood. However, Raza Academy did not provide any evidence that anything like this was used in the vaccine.

In response to Raza Academy, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind clarified that there was no objection to taking corona vaccine in times of disaster. In an interview to a Hindi news TV channel, Dr A Gangakhedkar, a former head of the Indian Council of Medical Research, clarified that neither pork nor blood was used in any of the two corona vaccines approved in India.

The vaccine is completely halal and harmless. People from every community can get this vaccine. Several factors were spreading the rumor that corona vaccine used pork blood. Dr. Gangakhedkar said that the rumor was baseless and false. People should not pay attention to such rumors.

He added that both vaccines underwent a thorough clinical examination before the vaccine was approved. The vaccine was approved after a thorough examination in the laboratory. Some established interests spread such rumors to spread misunderstanding in the society. People should not pay attention to such rumors. He said the vaccine was thoroughly tested with people of all communities in the society in mind
