Nine countries demand Indian vaccine for corona, request direct vaccine developer


- Nepal alone asked for 12 million doses

At least nine countries have reportedly demanded India's corona vaccine when the Indian government is scheduled to start domestic corona vaccination from January 16.

These nine countries included Brazil, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, South Africa, Bhutan, etc. According to government sources, India will first give priority to vaccinating neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava claimed that India was already ready to co-operate with everyone during the Koro epidemic.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, two corona vaccines were approved in India. In fact, three companies were making vaccines in India. Two of them were selected for vaccination in India. The two vaccines Covishield and Covacin were given the necessary permission for emergency use. According to the Prime Minister, India used to import PPE kits, masks, ventilators and testing kits. India was now self-sufficient in this matter.

Countries seeking Indian vaccines have demanded direct transactions with vaccine developers on a government-to-government (GTG) basis. Nepal alone demanded 12 million doses of the vaccine. The ghost demanded a million doses of the vaccine being prepared at the Serum Institute in Pune (Maharashtra). Myanmar had a special agreement with India to buy the vaccine. So Bangladesh demanded 30 million doses. Not only Asian countries, countries as far as Africa had approached India for the vaccine. Thus, India can also become an important exporter of corona vaccine.

Systematic mock drills were carried out in India before vaccination started on January 16.
