Nepal's exercise to grab areas of India, tensions in border villages

The border points at Pittodgarh for crossing the border between the two countries had to be closed due to the Koro epidemic. People living in villages in Indian areas told the media that unreasonable political tension has increased following Oli's statement.

The people living in the villages in the border areas of the two countries have brotherhood and very good relations. Such a statement may increase the friction between them. It may be mentioned that there is an ongoing border dispute between Nepal and India, Nepal's Foreign Minister is coming to India during which border disputes can be discussed. However, even before that, Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has sparked controversy by issuing a statement. He said neither India nor China would compromise on Nepal's borders.

"We are not capable of digesting the borders of India or China, but we will continue to claim our borders with our allies," Oli said.
