India's request to UK to arrest Gujarati gangster Ranapariya accused of murder

India had requested Britain to arrest Jayasukh Ranapariya, who fled to London from London in April 2018 after handing over the murder of Jamnagar lawyer Kirti Joshi.

Jayasukh Muljibhai Ranapariya, also known as Jayesh Patel, was last seen in London on a phone call. Ranapariya, 41, was found sitting there calling for ransom.

A total of 42 cases including murder, ransom, fraud, fraud and money laundering were registered against Jayasukh Ranapariya, according to a dossier of Gujarat Police. Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice to search for Ranapariya and arrest him.

A Scotland Yard police spokesman said: "We will not release any information on this. We are not looking for anyone by name or identifying who the police are investigating."

In India, the ED seized assets worth Rs 3.97 crore from Ranapariya in a land grab case in Jamnagar in 2018. Ranapariya has been involved in mafia activities in Jamnagar for the last few years.

His job is to confiscate people's land and then collect ransom. His name was mentioned after the murder of Jamnagar lawyer Kirti Joshi.
