If your privacy is compromised, you can delete WhatsApp: Delhi High Court

New delhi date. 18 January 2021, Monday

The Delhi High Court had heard an application on WhatsApp's new privacy policy. "If your privacy is compromised, you can delete WhatsApp," the High Court said.

The petitioner said in his petition that the government should take strict action against WhatsApp's new privacy policy. Which is considered a violation of the Privacy Rule. A private app like WhatsApp seeks to disclose information linked to the general public, which should be banned. The matter has been criticized by the Delhi High Court.

"This is a private app, but if your privacy is compromised by this app, you should delete WhatsApp," the Delhi High Court said.

A lawyer has also filed an application in the Delhi High Court against WhatsApp's privacy policy. The petitioner contended that it was against the fundamental rights of citizens enshrined in the Constitution. So we want to have strict rules for this. European countries have strict rules for this, which is why WhatsApp's policy is different abroad, but since there are no strict rules in India, they do not mind giving personal data of citizens here to third parties.

Mukul Rohatgi argued on behalf of WhatsApp in court. He said that this use is completely safe and will be done keeping in view the privacy of the people. Conversations between two friends should never be given to any third party. This is just a group affiliated with the WhatsApp business, which will be used for businesses with data and people in mind.
