Government ruthless: 50 farmers lost their lives, one more farmer strangled and committed suicide

New delhi date. Saturday, January 2, 2020

Thousands of farmers in Delhi have been protesting against the Centre's agriculture law for a month and a half, but due to lack of response from the government, the number of farmers committing suicide is on the rise.

A 57-year-old agitator on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border committed suicide by choking himself. The suicide note also said that if the government did not accept the request, my body would be cremated on the spot. On the other hand, the death toll of farmers involved in the agitation has risen to 50.

Even in the bitter cold, farmers are currently agitating on the Delhi border. Meanwhile, Sardar Kashmir Singh, a 57-year-old farmer from Bilaspur in Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide by choking himself while holding a rod in a mobile toilet.

"If the government does not accept our demands, bury my body here, let my two daughters get married," he said in a note written before the suicide. So far only farmers from Punjab are giving their lives here, so as a native of Uttar Pradesh I support this movement by taking my life, the government should accept the demands of the farmers.

While this is the second case of death of a farmer in 24 hours of agitation, a farmer lost his life due to cold here. Meanwhile, the death toll of farmers involved in the agitation has reached 50 so far.

Outraged farmers, on the other hand, have now announced that if our demands are not met, farmers from all over the country will come to Delhi on January 26 with tractors and the government parade will be accompanied by a tractor parade.

The seventh round of talks between the farmers and the government will be held on the 4th of this month, in which the two main demands will be to withdraw the law and support price issue. Yogendra Yadav, who is associated with the movement, said, "The government is claiming that we have accepted 50 per cent of the farmers' demands. Although this is a blatant lie, the government has not given any guarantee in writing on paper."

Farmer leader Darshan Pale said, "We will hold a farmers' parade in Delhi on January 26, in which many farmers will join the tractor." Farmers leader Ashok Dhawale said that during our 38-day agitation, about 50 farmers have been killed but the government is turning a blind eye.
