Central government orders corona vaccine to Serum Institute, will cost Rs 200 per bottle

- The government ordered 111 million doses to the Serum Institute

The nationwide corona vaccination is going to start from January 16. Corona vaccine will be given to 3 crore health workers and frontline workers in the first phase of vaccination. Then in the second phase, there are plans to vaccinate 27 crore people who are at high risk of coronary heart disease. These 270 million people include people over the age of 50 and those with a serious illness. Preparations for Rasikaram have been made by the Central Government as well as all the State Governments.

In the midst of all this, there is news that the central government has placed an order with the Serum Institute of India for corona vaccine. This has been informed by the officials of Serum Institute. The Corona vaccine, developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca, is manufactured by the Serum Institute in India. The vaccine, called Covishield, has also been approved by the Indian government for emergency use.

According to media reports, the central government has ordered 11.1 million doses of the covshield vaccine to the Serum Institute. Talking about the price, one dose i.e. one bottle will cost Rs. 210. The price of the vaccine has been under discussion between the government and the Serum Institute for the past few days. The Serum Institute was asked by the government to reduce the cost of the vaccine so that it could reach everyone in the country.
