New delhi date. Friday, January 22, 2021

Farmers have been protesting in Delhi for two months demanding repeal of three agriculture laws by the central government. This was the 11th meeting between the government and the farmers, and as before, the result was zero.

The government has now indicated its readiness to suspend agricultural laws for a year and a half, while farmers are adamant on their demands and have now hinted that the agitation will not end until the laws are repealed. The government has made it clear in the 11th meeting that the laws will not be repealed, let alone seen to be more lenient.

At the 11th meeting held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, the government has now taken a tough stance, saying "we will not repeal the law and are ready to suspend it for 12 or 18 months." While the farmers argued that our demand is to repeal the law and legitimize the support price. Nothing less than that we run.

When the government said consider the proposal we put forward, we can offer nothing more than this now. "We have given the farmers one more day to consider, they are not ready to believe," Agriculture Minister Tomar said. Some of the forces involved in the movement want the stalemate to end and the picketing to continue.

So far 11 rounds have been held between the farmers and the government for about 45 hours but the result has been zero. Farmers, on the other hand, have now taken a stand against the announcement of a grand tractor parade in Delhi on January 26.

At the meeting, the farmers told the government that we reject your proposal to suspend the law for a year and a half. The agitation will continue on the Delhi border and we will also hold a huge tractor rally on the scheduled route in Delhi on January 26. We will not disrupt law and order but the government will be responsible.

Now it is not decided when the next 12th round meeting between the government and the farmers will be held, the government has said that we are still ready to talk to the farmers while the farmers have said that today's meeting has been extremely disappointing. So now when the next meeting will be held has not been decided by both the parties.

Farmer leader Tikait claimed that the government had told us not to hold a meeting until the proposal was accepted. While Tomar said that we are ready to hold a meeting tomorrow but Vigyan Bhavan will not be empty. Farmers, on the other hand, have said that they will continue the agitation indefinitely and will not leave Delhi until the law is repealed.

On behalf of the Union Government, the meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Minister Som Prakash and representatives of 41 farmers' organizations. After the meeting, Indian Farmers Union leader Joginder Singh said that the leaders of the farmers' union had rejected the proposal to suspend the law for a year and a half, adding that the talks had broken down here.

"The ministers told us that they were ready to suspend the law for two years," said Rakesh Tikait, another leader. While peasant leaders have been adamant on repealing the law and providing a legal guarantee of support prices. Harpal Singh, leader of the Indian Farmers' Union, said, "Even if we accept the government's demand to suspend the law for a year and a half, our fellow farmers on the Delhi border are agitating.

If we accept the government's proposal after so many sacrifices, what will we show to our fellow farmers? We are also worried about whether these fellow farmers will return once the agitation is over. The government says we will suspend the law for 18 months, but we doubt the government's credibility. We will die here but we will not return unless the law is repealed.

Agriculture is the foundation of Gujarat's economy, Modi has a good chance to end controversy: Uma Bharti

Bhopal, Ta. 22

Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has said that both the Union government and the agitating farmers should not bring their arrogance between the ongoing agitation for agricultural laws and the dialogue with the government.

Uma Bharti also said that after a long period of 30 years, farmers have gathered in Delhi to push their demand. In the midst of this situation, both the government and the farmers have a good chance to put an end to this controversy and not bring their arrogance anywhere in the conversation.

Gujarat has always been the state of agriculture, agriculture has been the foundation of Gujarat's economy while industry has come later. So Narendra Modi as well as the farmers have a good chance to end this controversy.
