-Sindh High Court orders release

Islamabad 25th December 2020 Friday

The Sindh High Court on Thursday ordered the release of Ahmed Umar Saeed Sheikh, Sheikh Adil and Salman Shakib, the killers of US journalist Daniel Pearl.

The Singh High Court had ruled that it was illegal to keep the killers of Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl in jail. The court ordered the release of these people. The ISI is believed to be behind the release of Umar Sheikh. According to a Daily Pakistan report, the Sindh High Court had also ordered the names of the four accused to be included in the exit control list. This means that these four cannot leave the country.

The United States, meanwhile, has expressed concern over the Singh High Court's decision to release Pearl's killers. "We are concerned about the Sindh High Court's decision to release some terrorists, including the killer of Daniel Pearl," the State Department tweeted. We were assured that Pearl's killers would not be released. The case is still ongoing and we need to keep a close eye on it. At such a sensitive time, we want to stand by Daniel Pearl's family
