New Delhi, 27 December 2020 Sunday

With the onset of the cold season, tensions on the Line of Control (LoC) by Pakistan are expected to escalate, the top commander of the army said, adding that there were reports that the launch pad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was about 200 250 terrorists are on the verge of infiltrating.

There have been constant reports of infiltration into low-altitude areas during the cold season at the LoC, with 200 to 250 terrorists preparing to infiltrate the POK.

Although security forces are also monitoring intrusions directly from the LOC and infiltration from the Pir Panjal areas, deployments to the LOC are intensive, and surveillance equipment has been installed at many levels.

Army commanders said that Pakistan was trying to escalate tensions by continuously violating the ceasefire to divert attention from its internal issues to make the infiltration of terrorists successful even in the cold season. However, the army will respond with a stern response.
