Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Swami Vivekananda's ideas were relevant even in today's age.

Amit Shah, who was on a visit to West Bengal, visited the ancestral home of Swami Vivekananda. Earlier, he had offered prayers at the Ramakrishna Mission in memory of Swami Vivekananda's guru Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

During a conversation with reporters, he urged today's youth to take inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda and move forward. Amit Shah then left for Midnapore. After his rally in Midnapore today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's special men Shubhendu Adhikari and some others are set to join the BJP.

Speaking on the occasion, Mamata on Friday said that TMC is a huge banyan tree. If four branches fall off, the party will not be harmed. However, Mamata has been agitated from within. The BJP on the one hand and Asaduddin Owaisi, an MP from Hyderabad on the other, are all set to contest the West Bengal Assembly elections. Mamata understands this fact very well so she was rushing to save her angry other colleagues.
