Ruchi Gupta of NSUI resigns

-Sonia Gandhi resigned during the meeting there

-NSUI requires internal changes that have not occurred

New Delhi Dated 19th December 2020 Saturday

Ruchi Gupta, joint secretary of the NSUI (National Students Union of India), resigned as interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi convened a meeting at her home today to persuade disgruntled party leaders. Whether this is a coincidence or a calculated step is a matter of debate.

In August this year, 23 senior Congress leaders wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi raising questions about the party's internal election and permanent chairperson. At the time, the uprising was crushed by Sonia and her supporters. It is indicative that Ruchi Gupta resigned while Sonia Gandhi was holding a meeting with the correspondents today. Ruchi also raised questions like those 23 leaders that NSUI's internal affairs have not been smooth and internal changes have become inevitable. Although those changes have been pending for a long time, no action has been taken so I am resigning from my post.

"You all know that changes in the internal organization of NSUI have become inevitable over the last few months but there has been an unnecessary delay in making those changes," Ruchi wrote in a WhatsApp message to NSUI officials. I do not think it is appropriate to take this matter to the Congress president again and again so I am resigning.
