Rs 60 tax on Rs 90 petrol, government is exploiting: Subramaniam Swamy

New Delhi, 8 December 2020, Tuesday

Even in the midst of sluggishness in the economy, petrol prices have caught fire.

His own party, BJP MP Dr Subramaniam Swamy, has now opposed the Modi government's hike in petrol prices. Dr Swamy says the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 90 per liter at the moment. 30, of which another Rs. 60 is taxed by the government. In fact, the maximum price of petrol should be Rs. 40 per liter.

"The government is exploiting the people by raising petrol prices. However, Swamy's suggestion is being liked by many on social media and many are protesting and asking questions," Swamy said.

However, this is not the first time that Dr. Swamy has opposed the policies of his government. Even before this, he has protested against the Modi government many times in public.
