Rahul Gandhi's ban on march to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Article 144 enforced in New Delhi

- He was going to Rashtrapati Bhavan today in support of farmers

New delhi date. Thursday 24 December 2020

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan in support of thousands of farmers protesting against the new agriculture law. He was allowed to meet the president with only three leaders.

Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code came into force in the capital New Delhi today. Rahul Gandhi was to march from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

All the proposals sent by the central government were rejected by all the farmers. The government is not ready to withdraw the law and farmers are not ready to move across the Delhi border until the law is withdrawn. Thus, there was an impression that there was a stalemate on this issue.

To show that he is with the farmers, Rahul Gandhi today announced a march from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhavan. But the local administration and the police did not allow him to do so. Other Congress MPs were also to accompany Rahul. The Congress claimed that we were to submit a letter with the signatures of 20 million people to the President asking him to take steps to withdraw the agricultural laws against the interest of the farmers.

But without the permission of March, the will of the Congress has not come to fruition.
