PM Modi calls Parkash Singh Badal, who is supporting farmers, wishes him a happy birthday

Today is the birthday of senior Akali Dal leader and former Punjab CM Prakash Singh Badal, who returned the Padma Vibhushan award in support of the farmers' movement.

According to sources, PM Modi had called Prakash Singh Badal, a former BJP ally and old ally, to wish him a happy birthday. PM Modi had telephoned Parkash Singh Badal. Badal's son-in-law Harsimr Singh Kore had also resigned from the Modi government's cabinet.

The Akali Dal is also said to have played a key role in the farmers' fierce protests in Punjab.

Earlier, Parkash Singh Badal had written a letter to PM Modi on the issue of farmers, saying that the government should end the conflict with the farmers and resolve the dispute through dialogue, consent and compromise.
