Now some US lawmakers have also told India to allow farmers to protest peacefully against agricultural laws.

- Canada and Britain have said so before

Opposing the three new agricultural laws enacted by India's central government, some US senators said farmers should be allowed to protest peacefully. These senators were supporting the peasant movement.

Earlier, Canada and Britain had also indirectly opposed the agriculture law enacted by Narendra Modi's government. "I support the farmers of Punjab who are protesting against the misleading and vague agricultural laws framed by the Indian government for their livelihood," US Congressman Doug Lamalfa said on Monday.

Doug Lamalfa is a Republican lawmaker from California. He said that farmers of Punjab have the right to protest peacefully against their government without any violence. They should be met for demonstrations. Democrat Josh Harder, another MP, said India is a big democracy. Citizens should have the opportunity to demonstrate peacefully. I appeal to the farmers and Narendra Modi to keep the peace. Disputes should be resolved through peaceful dialogue on both sides.
