No one can snatch their land from 'Ma No Lal' farmers: Rajnath Singh

New delhi date. 27 December 2020, Sunday

Amid farmers' agitation against the new agricultural law, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, "These governments have never had or will never have the intention to complete the MSP." The mandi system will also remain the same. No one can snatch their land from 'Ma No Lal' farmers.

The defense minister said that it was propagated that farmers' land would be stripped away through contract farming. There is a definite provision in the agricultural law that no one can snatch the land of 'Ma No Lal' farmers. He was speaking at a function to mark the completion of three years of Himachal Pradesh government.

Rajnath Singh said that some people were deliberately spreading rumors about the new agricultural law. Historical agricultural reforms have moved the land under the feet of those who pursue their own interests in the name of farmers. Their business will come to an end so there is a misconception in some parts of the country that our government wants to end the MSP system.

Regarding Himachal Pradesh, he said, "When the Modi-led government came to power at the Center, we changed that thinking." We are looking at each of the states with the same eyes. We began to see Himachal not in terms of its shape but in terms of its economic and strategic importance.

At the same time, he said, what used to happen was that Himachal Pradesh is a small mountainous state with a small population so there is no special need for resources.
