India will overtake Britain to become world's fifth largest economy in 202: CEBR

According to a report by British think tank Economics and Business Research (CEBR), India will become the world's third largest economy by 2020, surpassing Germany and Japan. India, which joined the top five economies in the world in 2015, had to retreat in 2020 due to the corona and has been pushed to sixth position.

The CEBR report states that India will overtake Britain by the end of 2022. And by 202, Germany will be behind India. Earlier, India had overtaken Britain to become the world's largest economy in 2013 and became the world's fifth largest economy. Officially, India is still the world's fifth largest economy, but the report fears that by 2020, India will have slipped another place to sixth due to the Corona. According to the report, the weakening of the rupee against the dollar has pushed the Indian economy out of the top five economies in the world.

The CEBR report estimates that the Indian economy will grow at 6 per cent in FY 2021-2, while GDP growth is expected to be 5 per cent in FY 205-2. The report says that as the Indian economy grows, its growth rate will slow down. By 203, the growth rate of the Indian economy will be limited to 7.5 per cent. With this growth rate estimate, India will overtake Britain in 202, Germany in 203 and Japan in 2030. Thus, India will again rank fifth among the world's top economies in 208, fourth in 203 and third in 2020, respectively.

The CEBR report estimates that China will overtake the United States to become the world's largest economy by 203. However, the CEBR's estimate claims that China will become the world's largest economy five years earlier than other agencies estimate.
