India has one of the lowest wage rates in the world, according to a global report

According to a global report, daily workers are the most affected by the corona virus in India. This fact was presented in the latest report of the International Labor Force (ILO) affiliated with UNO.

The gist of the report is that even in poorer countries like Pakistan and Nepal, the minimum daily wage income in India was lower. The report claimed that millions of day laborers in India did not receive a single penny as compensation during the first and second lockdowns. During the nearly 40-day phased lockdown, the wages of day laborers were reduced by twenty-two and a half per cent. In comparison, the income of organized sector workers declined by only three and a half per cent.

The ILO has included the median value in its Global Wage Report 2021 to assess the wages of Indian workers. Most countries around the world have different wage rates in different sectors. The ILO was of the view that the minimum wage of Rs.

In most countries of the world, workers get a minimum monthly wage of Rs 9,720 while Indian workers get a monthly wage of Rs 4,300. In Pakistan, which is considered poorer than in India, workers are paid Rs. 9,820, Rs. 7,920 in Nepal, Rs. 4,940 and Rs. 7,060 in China.
