Income tax raids on pro-peasant movement intermediaries, Amarinder Singh Lalchol

New delhi date. 20 December 2020, Sunday

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has turned red after the IT department raided more than 10 intermediaries in Punjab amid ongoing agitation against agricultural laws on the Delhi border.

Criticizing the raid, he said it was a move by the central government to intimidate the middlemen who were supporting the agitating farmers. But such action would further increase the anger of the people against the central government. Raids have been carried out to increase the pressure on them.

He said that the government has not been successful in persuading the farmers who have been protesting for a long time and now the government has started targeting intermediaries to weaken the movement, who have been with the farmers since day one. In the case, IT teams carried out night raids with paramilitary CRPF personnel from the Center.

The IT department took action within four days of giving him the notice. He did not even wait for the reply to the notice. Even the police were kept in the dark.
