Gangrape case against five-year-old girl in Jalon, case referred to Jhansi Medical College

A shocking incident took place in Jalon, Uttar Pradesh, when a five-year-old girl was picked up and gangraped while playing near her home.

The girl was referred to Jhansi Medical College in critical condition, police said. The girl was not conscious so the identity of the perpetrators was not immediately known. The police had launched an investigation.

The incident at Sandhi village in Atta area in Jalon was likely to become a national issue once again as the girl belongs to a Dalit family. Police declined to comment further. All that was said was that the investigation was ongoing.
