Facebook deletes farmers 'page for a while, farmers' iCell also registers on YouTube

- Refused to give a reason for doing so

New Delhi Dated 21st December 2020 Monday

Various rumors were circulating on the issue of the peasant movement which had been going on for the last twenty-four days. There was a lot of speculation about the discussions between the government and the farmers. To remove that, the farmers' eye cell created a page on Facebook. Facebook's administrators removed the page for a while on Sunday.

However, a few hours later, the page came back on Facebook. Facebook regretted that the page did not exist but declined to give a reason as to why the page was deleted. A spokesman for Farmers said Facebook did so knowingly. But Facebook re-launched the page after farmers' organizations protested. Facebook only regretted not having the page for a few hours.

To clarify and dispel misconceptions about their movement, the farmers' organizations started an account on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. under the name Kisan Ekta Morcha. As soon as the Facebook page was closed, farmers' organizations immediately wrote on Twitter that this is what happens when you raise your voice against injustice. At 7pm on Sunday, a farmer spokesman wrote that our voice had reached 94 lakh people. The Facebook page was then shut down.

However a few hours later Facebook rescheduled the page.
