Delhi's Gurudwara Rakabganj is a holy place for Sikhs. This Gurudwara is located near the Parliament House. Which was built in 1783. This is the same place where Guru Tegh Bahadurji, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, was buried. His body was cremated here by his disciple Lakhi Shah Banjara and his son.

It may be recalled that Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded by the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb on 11 November 1675 at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. Guru Tegh Bahadur was born on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar, Punjab.

PM Modi said that it is a special grace of Guru Sahib that during the tenure of our government we will celebrate the 400th Prakash Parva of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Let us commemorate this historic occasion by remembering the ideals of Guru Teg Bahadurji.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Rakabganj Gurudwara came at a time when Sikh farmers in Punjab have been sitting on a picket at the Delhi-NCR border for almost 25 days demanding repeal of the new agriculture law. The PM's visit is believed to be an attempt to send a message to Sikh farmers that the government is backtracking on dialogue with farmers.

PM Modi has shared a picture of his trip to Rakabganj. Apart from this he has also given a message in Gurmukhi language.

Informing about the tour of Rakabganj Gurudwara, PM Modi said that this morning I prayed at the historic Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib, where the holy body of Shri Guru Tegbahadur Ji was cremated. I am very happy, like millions of people in the world, I am also impressed and inspired by the compassion of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
