It is widely believed that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be the chief guest on Republic Day 2021.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned him and formally invited him. In response to India's invitation, Boris Johns invited Narendra Modi to attend the G7 Summit in England next year.

The last British Prime Minister, John Major, was the chief guest at the 1993 Republic Day Parade. At that time the country had a Congress government. For the first time since then, Boris Johnson will be invited by the NDA government.

However, New Delhi has not yet made any official announcement on the issue. However, political observers believe that Modi took the political step in such a way that the new US president would not be offended by Biden and would not enter into a bitter relationship with the US.

The Prime Minister wrote on Twitter that he had detailed discussions with Boris Johnson on issues like investment, defense, Covid 19, bilateral trade, environment, etc.

Even the British ambassador to India did not speak clearly about Republic Day. All he said was that our Prime Minister was eager to visit India as soon as possible.
