Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest? AAP alleges Delhi Police

- Stopped the Chief Minister going to the farmers

New Delhi on 8 December 2020 Tuesday

The Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was detained by the Delhi Police at his residence. The party also alleged that this was done at the behest of the Union Home Ministry

A party spokesperson told the media that the chief minister was planning to meet the farmers. He also hinted on Monday that he would meet the farmer leaders face to face during the India shutdown. He was detained by the Delhi Police to prevent him from meeting the farmers. It may be recalled here that on Monday, Uttar Pradesh police detained SP leader and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav at his residence to prevent him from holding a tractor rally.

The Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that the Chief Minister returned to meet farmers at the Indus border and was immediately taken into custody by the police. The Aam Aadmi Party also alleged that the three mayors of the Delhi Municipal Corporation were stopped outside the Chief Minister's bungalow. Those people came to meet the Chief Minister as decided in advance. But now all the meetings and working activities of the Chief Minister were suspended after the police stopped him. Police set up barricades outside the chief minister's residence. Now no one can come out from inside nor can anyone go in from outside.

The Aam Aadmi Party also alleged that all this happened at the behest of the Centre's Home Department.
