A new chapter in the history of the medical field was written in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, when a nine-year-old girl was not knocked unconscious during an operation to remove a tumor from her head, but she continued to play the piano during the operation and operated on her brain without any complications. Lidi, who did not have any pain during this time, is reported to have had a lump in the head of nine-year-old Soumya, who lives in Banmaur near Gwalior.

Due to a lump in her head, she had been facing many problems for the last two years. In the past, Soumya was admitted to a local private hospital for surgery. Dr. Abhishek Chauhan, a neurosurgeon working in this hospital, had the tumor removed by Awak craniotomy method (forehead incision). This was a very difficult operation, but it was successful.

According to Dr. Chauhan, the operation of Awake craniotomy method only anesthetizes the part of the surgery instead of making the patient unconscious. To find out if the patient had any problems during the operation, Soumya was asked to play the piano during the operation and the staff kept talking to him during the operation.

She continued to play the piano during the operation and thus the tumor was removed without damaging the useful part of the brain. The girl is now completely healthy. Doctors believe that this was not a simple operation, it could have caused a lot of damage even with a small mistake, and there is a risk that the patient will become paralyzed. This was the first operation of its kind in Gwalior.
