The Indian Foreign Ministry on Thursday reprimanded a senior official of the Pakistani embassy in the capital New Delhi over the issue of four Pakistani militants hiding in a truck in the early hours of Thursday in Nagarota, Jammu and Kashmir.

The move gave the impression that India wanted to take a tougher stance on the issue. From the material obtained from the slain terrorists, it was clear that these people came from Pakistan and were in constant contact with their Pakistani mentors.

A digital mobile radio made by a Pakistani company, Micro Electronics, was recovered from the slain militants. The messages from the radio made it clear that the militants were in constant contact with their bosses in Pakistan.

According to a report, the brother of notorious terrorist Masood Azhar was directing the terrorists. The large quantity of explosives they brought into the truck indicated that they were preparing for a major attack. But as the Indian security forces were on alert, they were shot dead before reaching their destination. Based on earlier reports on Thursday morning, security forces began checking vehicles approaching the highway near Nagarota. When the truck with the militants got there, the militants got out of the truck and tried unsuccessfully to escape rather than shoot.

Four militants were killed in the retaliatory firing of the security forces. An investigation was then launched into whether any other militants were hiding in a nearby forest and the Jammu and Kashmir Highway was closed to traffic.
