London, Ta. Thursday, November 19, 2020

The 'Climate Transparency Report 2020' was released outlining which countries are in the G20 position on the issue of climate change. According to a 72-page report, India has lost an average of Rs 1 lakh crore every year from 1999 to 2018 due to climate change.

If we calculate the economic loss, America has suffered the most. The United States has lost an average of 15 5.158 billion (Rs 3.82 lakh crore) annually over the years. China ranks second with Rs 2.61 lakh crore.

During these 20 years, an average of 2925 deaths have been reported from weather-related disasters in India every year. The highest number of 2939 deaths has been reported in Russia. Then comes India. India's average per capita annual greenhouse gas production is 2 tonnes, much lower than the G-20 average. Air pollution, on the other hand, kills more than one million people a year in India, a very high figure.

According to a report prepared by 14 major environmental organizations of the world, India is in a better position than other countries in the world. The Paris Agreement aims to reduce carbon production and make more use of renewable energy-clean energy.

India is definitely working in this direction. Of course, no country fully complies with the Paris Agreement, but some of the countries that work seriously on environmental issues include India. All G20 countries have lost 2.20 lakh lives to environmental disasters in the last 20 years. The total loss of the entire country is નોંધ 2600 billion.
