Tea and plastic cups will now be available at all railway stations in the country

Plastic cups will soon be closed at all railway stations in the country. Instead, tea will now be sold in Kuldi. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal made the announcement on Sunday. Tea will now be sold in eco-friendly coolies instead of plastic cups at every railway station in the country, he said.

Goyal was addressing an event at Dhigwada railway station in Alwar district of Rajasthan. The event was organized for the inauguration of the new electrified Dhigwada-Bandikui section coming under the North Western Railway.

The Railway Minister said that tea is still being served in Kuldi at about 400 railway stations in the country. In the future, we plan to sell tea in kuldi only at all railway stations in the country. This will be the first railway contribution towards a plastic-free India. On the one hand, it will not harm the environment, but on the other hand, it will provide employment to millions of people.

Former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad started kuldi at railway stations 15 years ago but plastic and paper cups have gradually replaced kuldi. Paper cups are currently the only tea sold at most railway stations. Which harms health on the one hand and the environment on the other.
