Osmanabad 6th November 2020 Friday

Tensions erupted between the monks and the Maharashtra state government over the opening of the Tulja Bhavani temple, considered to be the Kuladevi of Maharashtra. The state government had enforced Section 144 around the Tulja Bhavani temple in Osmanabad.

Sadhu Tushar Bhonsle, chairman of the BJP's spiritual coordination committee, had a few days ago warned the state government to open temples in the state or at least let me pay homage to Kuldevi Tulja Bhavani. If my demand is not accepted, I will fast till death in the precincts of Tulja Bhavani temple.

The Maharashtra Sant Samaj also warned the state government that the monks would agitate if no decision was taken on the issue within 24 hours. The state government had argued that the crowds at the temples were likely to lead to a sharp rise in Corona cases.

The 144th lotus will be applicable till midnight today in an area of up to 300 meters around the Tulja Bhavani temple, a state government spokesperson said. Political experts believe that the BJP wants the fall of the state government at any cost. A few days ago, Governor Bhagat Singh also wrote a letter to the state government asking why the temples were closed if liquor shops and bars were opened. Has Shiv Sena become secular? Bhagat Singh's letter caused a stir and NCP's Sharad Pawar wrote a letter to the Prime Minister complaining about the governor's behavior.
