Rajya Sabha elections - BJP reached around 100

-Less than 40 seats in Congress

-Slowly BJP will get majority

New Delhi Dated 3rd November 2020 Tuesday

The results of the Rajya Sabha elections for 11 seats were declared on Monday. The BJP won nine of the 11 seats. At the same time, the BJP's position in the Rajya Sabha was strengthened.

The BJP had 92 seats in the Rajya Sabha while the Congress had 38 seats. At one time the Congress had a two-thirds majority in the Rajya Sabha, so the BJP was not in a position to implement any concrete policy. Today, the Congress seemed to be on the verge of collapse.

The BJP now needed only 31 seats to get a majority in the Rajya Sabha. Once the BJP has a majority in the Rajya Sabha, the BJP will be able to protest without implementing its program. The Rajya Sabha needs 123 members for a majority. If the BJP's other NDA allies are counted, the BJP currently has 110 members. In Karnataka, the seat fell vacant due to the untimely death of BJP MP Ashok Gasti. Its election is scheduled for December 1. The victory of BJP is certain.

According to the results released on Monday, BJP candidates won eight seats in Uttar Pradesh and one in Uttarakhand. Thus the BJP's position in the upper house of Parliament was gradually strengthening. In Uttar Pradesh, SP and BSP each got one seat each.

The Congress currently has 40 seats in the Rajya Sabha. The meeting between PL Poonia and actor-politician Raj Babbar ends on November 25. So the Congress seats will be reduced to 38. The BJP members who won from Uttar Pradesh include Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Neeraj Sheikh, Arun Singh, Geeta Shakya, Haridwar Dubey, Vrajlal, BL Sharma and Seema Dwivedi. In Uttarakhand, BJP candidate Naresh Bansal was elected unopposed.
