- Received information from a terrorist arrested in Delhi

New Delhi Dated 21st November 2020 Saturday

Based on information received from two Jaish-e-Muhammad militants arrested in the capital New Delhi, security forces were dispatched to nab a sleeper cell operating in the Deoband area of Uttar Pradesh.

Two Jaish militants were arrested in Delhi on October 16 this year. These people were propagating Islamic Jihad and recruiting Muslim teenagers through a WhatsApp group called Jihad. The Special Branch of Delhi Police conducted a rigorous interrogation of the two arrested terrorists.

The two were identified as Abdul Latif Mir and Muhammad Ashraf, both residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces received shocking information from these two.

Apart from Deoband, some people from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi were also involved. The police were investigating all this. It may be recalled that General Bipin Rawat, former Chief of the Indian Army and now Chief of the Defense Staff, had said more than once that a terrorist could not infiltrate or attack a foreign country without the help of local youth (sleeper cells).
