There are different types of challenges on social media. The Ice Bucket Challenge was very popular at one time. People were pouring buckets of cold water on themselves. The purpose of the Ice Bucket Challenge was not only to make fun or joke but also to make people aware of a particular type of disease. Patrick Kevin, who turned this challenge into a worldwide craze, had Lou Gerrig Syndrome or ALS. His death was mourned on Facebook by his supporters at the age of eight. Patrick will always be remembered for inspiring and venturing to fight ALS. He was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 3 years ago. The disease is colloquially called Lou Gering Disease in America.

It is a disease of the nervous system in which the brain and spinal cord lose control over the muscles. This makes it very difficult to walk and perform daily activities. Speech problems and behaviors become awkward. The disease usually begins in the hands and feet and spreads slowly throughout the body. When the motor neurons of the brain are damaged, they stop sending messages to the muscles irregularly. The man seems to look older than his physical age. In 2013, Kiev told professional golfer Chris Kennedy to put a bucket of ice water on his wife's sister, Janet Senerchia, and posted a video of it on social media.

This was his idea which also included insisting on donating money to charity. Janet Senerchia's husband also had ALS. Kiev took on the responsibility of spreading the idea around the world. The Ice Bucket Challenge with co-founder Pete Fretas raised ૨૨ 30 million. This was the biggest social media campaign of the time. Like Quinn, Fretz had ALS and died at the age of eight. Expressing happiness over the completion of five years of the Ice Bucket Challenge, Kiev said that no one thought that the Ice Bucket would spread all over the world in this way.

However for an illness like ALS there was an attempt to get people’s attention and change minds. Kiwan's words were that warriors around the world are fighting this disease. Who is not ready to accept the death penalty. We want to continue our struggle. Don't pass the message that a man can live with ALS just to die. I will not leave the world until then. Patrick said goodbye to Kiev only after sending a message to the world.
