Fireworks were banned once again in Delhi on Diwali

New Delhi, 5 November 2020, Thursday

With the onset of winter in Delhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has banned the use of fireworks during the Diwali festivities this year as well to curb rising pollution.

Referring to corona and air pollution, Kejriwal said that like last year, the people of Delhi would gather at Connaught Place on Diwali to celebrate this year but not fireworks.

"The sky is full of explosions all around and it could make Corona's condition worse," he said. "Last year we took an oath not to firecrackers and this time we will celebrate Diwali but not firecrackers." There will be an act of playing together, on the evening of Diwali we will worship Lakshmi.

He said that there is a danger of both corona and pollution in Delhi. As no action has been taken by the neighboring states, the problem of burning straw in the fields by the farmers is still there and due to this the smoke is coming to Delhi. .
