Corona's one million new cases in America in 24 hours, the newly elected president will have to face many challenges

While incumbent President Donald Trump and Democrat candidate Biden are embroiled in tensions over the US presidential election, one million new cases of Corona were reported in a single day by Thursday evening.

One lakh new cases were being registered every day in the last two days of this week. Even the media attention in the run-up to the presidential election did not seem to have shifted. This was not new to experts. As many as 40,000 new cases of corona were reported daily in June, with the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases predicting 100,000 new cases a day unless immediate action is taken to control the epidemic.

Now that prophecy could be seen to be coming true. Earlier, more than 2.5 lakh people had died due to corona. According to a report in The New York Times, more than 2.5 million cases were reported in more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the country. There were more than fifty campuses where an average of one thousand new cases came up. There were four hundred colleges where an average of one hundred cases were filed daily. Most of these cases came at a time when students were returning for the new semester. At present more than 53 thousand patients were undergoing treatment in different hospitals.

As of Friday afternoon, 96.78 million cases of corona had been reported in the United States and 2.35 million people had died, according to Johns Hopkins University.
