China tests missile capable of destroying aircraft carriers thousands of kilometers away

China has successfully tested a super-destructive missile capable of destroying an aircraft carrier thousands of kilometers away at sea.

While US aircraft carriers are frequently seen in the South China Sea, China's test is a warning to the US and a source of tension for India.

China conducted the test in August, but the information has only recently been made public. According to Chinese military experts, two DF-26B and DF-21D missiles were launched and they were launched on a ship near Paracel Island in the South China Sea. But the missile was launched from a distance of thousands of kilometers.

The missile has been described by China as a carrier killer and is said to have been specially designed for the US's largest aircraft carrier.
