Biggest land scam in J-K's history, Congress-PDP and NC leaders involved

The biggest land scam in the history of Jammu and Kashmir has come to light. The Rs 25,000 crore land scam involves leaders of several parties and a list of leaders and bureaucrats occupying government land in the state.

PDP leader and former finance minister Haseeb Darbo has also been confirmed to be involved in the land scam, along with the names of his family members Shahzada Bano, Ejaz Hussain and Iftikhar Darbo, and Congress leader KK Amla has also been implicated in the scam. Government land will now be reclaimed from all this.

The Roshni Act was enacted to make land available to the poor legally on government land before 1999, another use of which was to raise money for power projects to be invested in power projects in Jammu and Kashmir, but it was also frequently improved. Yes, the governments in the state kept changing from time to time and politicians continued to take advantage of it.

Some businessmen have also been implicated in the scam, with state LG Manoj Sinha bluntly saying that all the land would be taken back, which is why the move is being taken by those who have taken government land in their own name as well as their families However, now that the land has been reclaimed from these people following a High Court order, it is hoped that this could become a major issue during the upcoming DDC elections in the state.
