Assassination of SP MLA Amit Yadav in his flat

- Shooting after a brawl at a liquor party

Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Samajwadi Party (SP) member Amit Yadav's flat in Lucknow was shot dead late Friday night and a young man was killed.

The incident caused a stir in the political circles of the state. According to police, there is a liquor party at the Laplace apartment in Hazratganj on Friday night. The young people present at the party must have been intoxicated. Meanwhile, a young man named Rakesh was killed by his own illegal pistol.

The party was a birthday party. However, the police did not clarify whether Amit Yadav himself was present. Police arrested a young man named Sanjay in connection with the murder. During interrogation, police found that Rakesh had been shot in the face with a pistol during a drunken brawl. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he was rushed to a trauma center. The doctors on duty there declared him dead.

The incident sparked a debate as to why the flats or bungalows allotted to high profile leaders are never investigated. A man named Pankaj Yadav lived in this flat of Amit Yadav. There were five people in the flat when the shooting happened. A total of four people, including Pankaj Yadav, were detained by the police. The four were being interrogated. Tins of beer and bottles of liquor were found from the flat.
