Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in West Bengal on a two-day visit from today. He had gone to West Bengal as part of preparations for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections in 2021.

He will hold a meeting with West Bengal BJP leaders and activists on Thursday. He is accompanied by BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy and national general secretary Kailash Vijvargiya. At the airport he was greeted by slogans of Amit Shah Zindabad and Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Before leaving Delhi, Amit Shah posted a message in Bengali on social media. "I am coming on a two-day tour of West Bengal from today," it said. I want to talk to the BJP's West Bengal unit, locals and friends in the media. This was Amit Shah's first visit to Bengal after the Corona epidemic. He had earlier arrived here on March 1 this year.

The tour was organized by Amit Shah in the spirit of strengthening the party ahead of next year's state assembly elections. According to a recent survey, the BJP's image in West Bengal seems to be getting stronger than before.
